About

Hi I’m Lin, polymer clay and mixed media artist.
In 2011 I emigrated from my home town of Plymouth in the UK to Perth, Western Australia where I have my studio set up at the back of our house.
My studio is my happy place, somewhere I can retreat to and immerse myself in creative exploration. I rarely end up sticking to what I had initially intended to make, instead I find my mind wandering to new possibilities and who knows where I’ll end up! This of course, is not always very productive, but it’s fun and I love it!
I have been creating for as long as I can remember and my creative journey has taken many turns.
I completed 2 silver smithing courses in 2007 and I may return to working with silver and copper at some stage.
I have explored various mediums over the years such as resin, glass and precious metal clay. Acrylic paint, powertex and found objects have also been great fun to indulge in, but polymer clay has remained my favorite medium to work in.

Polymer Clay

I stumbled onto polymer clay around 2005 and immediately fell in love with it’s versatility. My love of colour, texture and sculptural form made this the perfect medium for me. It can be carved, drilled, molded, stamped, painted, sanded and polished.

I use an artist quality clay which is extremely malleable and easy to work with. Once cured, it becomes hard but retains a slight flexibility which makes it very strong and durable.

Polymer clay comes in a wide variety of colours, which can then be mixed to give a limitless colour palette.
